With Valentine's Day just around the corner, I've been getting a lot of questions about love and relationships. I designed a simple six-card layout that you can use at home to help you understand the potential of any given relationship.
To begin, relax and focus your energy by taking a deep breath. Exhale while letting go of any stress, hopes, or fears associated with the outcome of the reading. Spread the cards out in front of you, and then take a few moments to gaze at the cards, or allow your hands to hover above the cards and feel the energy.
Visualize the person with whom you are interested in having a relationship (or with whom you are currently in a relationship.) Bring his or her face to mind, their name, the sound of their voice, their scent. What memories come to mind? Have you had a recent conversation that left a deep impression? Was there a hug or an accidental touch that created a spark? Try not to concentrate too hard on formulating a question, and just allow the essence of that person to arise naturally in your mind and heart.
When you feel ready, draw out six cards (six is the number of the Major Arcana named The Lovers). You will lay these out in a star formation as described below.
The first three cards will form an upward pointing triangle. The bottom left point represents how this person feels about you, the bottom right point represents what you should know about the situation, the top centre point represents the role they are meant to play in your life.
The second three cards will form an interlocking downward pointing triangle. The top left point represents how you feel about this person, the top right point represents what they should know about the situation, and the bottom centre point represents the role you are meant to play in this person's life.
In analyzing the cards you pulled out, try to remain objective, yet intuitive. Ask yourself, do these cards represent long term or short term influences? Does the overall feel of it seem positive or negative? Does it give me the impression that more courage and communication is needed, or perhaps some distance, and more self-reflection? If there are obstacles, what are they? Are they truly insurmountable hurdles, or is the timing just not quite right yet? Perhaps the reading is pointing out the situation is realistic, loving, and joyful- so am I just over-thinking and stressing out over nothing?
Keep in mind, relationships are never perfect, because people aren't perfect. This tarot spread is a tool to help you connect with your own intuition and to empower you with insight to help you make the best choices, and to help you create loving relationships.
Happy Valentine's Day! May you find love within and all around you!
