As a tarot card and aura reader, I sometimes work with people on a very intimate level, mentally, emotionally, and psychically, privy to very private struggles. One of the issues that comes up over and over again, especially during aura readings, is the issue of chronic pain, which so many people seem to be living with these days. In fact, I have watched my mother (a powerful psychic medium, herself) suffer from, and heal herself, from the devastating after effects of chemotherapy, including debilitating peripheral neuropathy pain. Helping people to manage chronic pain is an issue that is close to my heart, and one that I am deeply committed to.
I believe that everyone, no matter what state you are currently in, can feel better. Food, herbs, supplements, stress management, sleep, meditation and visualization, exercise, massage, alternative practices such as acupuncture and homeopathy, and of course, conventional western medicine may all play a part in someone’s healing journey. But sometimes, unfortunately, pain can remain stubbornly present even as we heal, and sometimes the stress the pain causes can actually interfere with the healing process itself. During an aura reading, my connection to the client’s auric field allows me to have a more direct experience of their physical, emotional, and mental state. Pain shows up to me in different ways during a reading- sometimes as a ragged tear in the person’s energy field, sometimes as a shooting or pulsing sensation, and sometimes simply as a jagged, imbalanced flow. My natural instinct in these cases is to redirect the flow of energy back to the person’s natural, healthy, and original energetic pattern. Sometimes, all that is needed is a little nudge, rather like prompting someone to remember their lines in a play. Other times, it feels more like wiping the slate clean, or rebooting a computer. Clients tell me that during this process they feel deeply relaxed. Some sensitive people tell me they feel the change in their energy field in various ways- tingling, itching, goosebumps, cold, heat, pressure, or a vague sense of movement. Other people feel a bit drowsy, emotional, or perky and energized!
Most importantly, some clients have told me that they experience their pain diminishing in the hours, days, or weeks that follow and that they believe it is a direct response to the aura reading. I cannot claim to be a doctor, and I certainly don’t claim to effect any miraculous healings... often the diminishment in the pain is temporary, lasting days to weeks. But I do believe that this type of energy medicine may be a useful alternative to, or addition to more conventional or less effective forms of pain relief.
